1️⃣ magic statue – one person is the “statue” & freezes in place until someone makes them laugh. it’s chaos. it’s hilarious. & it’s surprisingly hard to win when you have tiny comedians determined to break you.
2️⃣ heavy & light – this one is pure sibling fun (or frustration, depending on the mood). one player picks an object, & the other has to decide if it’s heavy or light—except the rules keep changing. a feather might be “heavy” while a couch is “light,” & the only way to win is to embrace the nonsense.
3️⃣ grannies – the ultimate roleplay game! my kids love dressing up like grannies, complete with exaggerated hunches & walking sticks. shenanigans always ensue—there’s usually some scooter-riding, plenty of “oh, my back!” groans, & at least one heated debate about whether grannies can floss. (they can. && they do.)
4️⃣ hotels – i am constantly checking into my kids’ imaginary hotel, where the service is…questionable. sometimes I get a pillow, sometimes i get charged 500 “dollarbucks” for tap water. the bellhop is also the chef, front desk manager, & occasional burglar. 5 stars, they’re the best.
5️⃣ keepy uppy – a Bluey classic that never fails. it’s simple: don’t let the balloon touch the ground. but somehow, it turns into a high-stakes olympic event in our house, complete with diving catches & dramatic last-second saves.
it’s wild, it’s loud, & honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
