I don’t take my kids around the world because I think travel is required.

I do it because I don’t want their worldview to stop at our driveway.

I want them to know that “normal” changes depending on where you stand.

That dinner looks different in every kitchen.

That school sounds different in every language.

That kindness exists in every corner of the planet.

I want them to grow up understanding that being born somewhere is a blessing — not a badge of superiority.

That different doesn’t mean wrong.

That uncomfortable isn’t the same thing as unsafe.

That headlines are loud… but real people are usually kind.

Travel isn’t about raising little tourists.

It’s about raising humans who are curious instead of critical.

Confident in who they are — without believing they’re better than anyone else.

The world is bigger than fear.

Bigger than politics.

Bigger than what we see on a screen.

And the more of it they experience,

the more empathy they carry with them wherever they go.

That’s the real souvenir.

... Read moreTraveling with kids has a profound impact beyond just visiting new places — it transforms how they perceive the world and themselves. From my experience, introducing children to different cultures helps dissolve preconceived notions and stereotypes they might unconsciously absorb at home. Hearing greetings like "Ciao" in Italy or "Kia Ora" in New Zealand opens their minds to a variety of languages and customs, showing them there's no one 'right' way to live or communicate. One important lesson is understanding that 'different' doesn’t mean 'wrong.' I’ve seen firsthand how children become more open-minded and less fearful when exposed to unfamiliar environments. This exposure teaches them that discomfort is often a sign of learning rather than danger. It encourages them to ask questions and embrace curiosity instead of making snap judgments. Moreover, traveling instills empathy. Kids realize that despite cultural differences, kindness is universal, existing in every corner of the world—from the bustling streets of Hong Kong to the serene beaches of Fiji. These encounters help them see past sensationalized headlines and media portrayal, gaining a personal and kinder perspective of people globally. Additionally, traveling together reinforces family bonds and shared memories. It allows parents to model respect and humility, emphasizing that where you are born is a blessing to appreciate, not a point of superiority. It’s about raising humans confident in themselves yet deeply respectful of others. The real souvenir of travel is this broadened empathy and understanding that our world is bigger than fear, politics, or screens. Encouraging children to experience this opens their hearts and minds in invaluable ways that last a lifetime.

Intimacy in Front of Kids? Absolutely Not🙄🙄
I don’t care if they “don’t understand yet,” energy is energy, and kids feel everything. Babies might not have words, but they have awareness. As parents, we’re shaping their sense of safety and boundaries from day one, and intimacy is something that should stay private. There’s a line between

I taught my child about her anatomy—using the correct words. Because here’s the truth: teaching kids the right names for their bodies isn’t “too much” or “inappropriate.” It’s protection. It’s education. It’s giving her confidence and ownership over her body. ✨ Hot take? Euphemisms don’t prot
