Hey everyone! So glad you stopped by my intro post! Since I'm just getting started here as a Fordham freshman, I wanted to share a little more about what life is like navigating college in the big apple. Moving from Maryland to NYC has been a whirlwind, but I'm absolutely loving the energy and endless possibilities! It's been a massive change, from the quiet streets of home to the constant buzz of Manhattan, but every day feels like a new adventure. Settling into campus life at Fordham has been exciting, figuring out my classes, finding my favorite study spots in the library, and just getting used to the rhythm of university life. It's definitely a balancing act, but I'm making sure to keep up with my passions alongside my studies. You already know I love to dance and cheer, and finding new places to practice and perform here has been amazing. Whether it's joining an intramural cheer squad or finding a dance studio downtown, keeping active helps me stay energized. The city's arts scene is incredible, and I'm even diving into some campus theatre groups ā itās a whole new world compared to high school! Being involved in theatre, even just backstage or in minor roles, has been such a creative outlet. And yes, pageants are still a big part of who I am! It's not just about the crown; it's about confidence, community service, and personal growth. I'm hoping to continue competing and using my platform to inspire others, even while balancing college commitments. On the fitness front, weightlifting has become a really important part of my routine. It's not just about physical strength; it's a fantastic way to de-stress after a long day of classes and clear my head. Finding a good gym near campus and sticking to a routine has been key for my mental and physical well-being. Letās talk self-care! With bustling city life, varying sleep schedules, and late-night study sessions, my skincare routine has become a non-negotiable. Iām always discovering new products and tips ā from hydrating masks to combat dry dorm air, to SPF for sunny NYC days ā and I can't wait to share my favorites with you all. Keeping my skin happy makes me feel more confident and ready to tackle anything. Of course, my love for trying new foods and shopping is thriving here in NYC. There are endless spots to explore, from small, authentic eateries in different neighborhoods to iconic department stores and quirky boutiques. I'm slowly building up my list of must-visit cafes for a study break and unique shops for finding those perfect outfits. I'm always up for a new culinary adventure! Being a college freshman means constant learning, both inside and outside the classroom. I'm really excited to use Lemon8 as a space to document my journey ā from student life hacks, organization tips for dorm living, and campus event highlights, to my personal style, beauty finds, and all my NYC adventures. I want to build a community here where we can share experiences, encourage each other, and discover new things together. What are some of your favorite college memories, or any must-try spots if you're in NYC? I'd love to hear from you!
