“I hate my job” meal prep ideas for low energy weeks

I know lots of people out there always come back to low energy and barley any brain cells to function anything. Instead of microwaving a bowl of ramen, here are some homemade meals you can make for low energy weeks.

What I like about these meals is that it’s low ingredient and doesn’t take time at all to make. It’s easy to prepare too giving you time to relax in between. Most importantly, it tastes delicious!

My favorite meal from these is the soy sauce noodles with onions. It’s very simple to make and I like how the taste of soy sauce is with the noodles.

I learned that having a few go-to recipes that don’t demand much energy can make a huge difference in how I feel throughout the day. For example, boiled eggs are a fantastic protein-packed snack that’s effortless to prepare and keeps me full longer. I usually pair them with a simple salad — cucumber and onion tossed lightly with lemon juice and a pinch of salt — which feels refreshing and light without any fuss. One of my all-time favorites is the soy sauce noodles dish mentioned in the article. It’s incredibly quick to whip up and satisfies my cravings without feeling heavy. What I like to do is add some sautéed onions for sweetness and a little bit of garlic when I have the energy; otherwise, plain soy sauce with noodles still hits the spot. When I’m craving something more filling but still easy, elbow macaroni mixed with shredded cabbage and carrot is a great combo. It’s colorful, crunchy, and requires minimal chopping. These simple meals helped me break the cycle of ordering takeout or reaching for snacks that left me feeling sluggish. Plus, since these recipes use common pantry items, I rarely have to make an urgent grocery trip. If you’re experiencing low motivation but want to stay nourished, try prepping little batches of these dishes ahead of time. You’ll save your energy for other moments where you need it most—whether it’s work or just some well-deserved rest. The key is keeping it easy, tasty, and satisfying, and these meals definitely checked all those boxes for me.
