SKIN: Products that give that filter finish
First off let me say, full video with descriptions of products is on my tik tok @ionaburciaga!! If you are more into visual stuff watch it there. otherwise, If you are a reader, i’ll list the products
down below ↓ ↓ ↓
⭐️ Face wash: K beauty water based face wash.
- this is what i’m currently using and will be using for the rest of my days. this just has helped my
1. sensitive skin
2. repair my skin barrier from using too many stripping exfoliants. (as you know serums and skin step programs often have many chemical exfoliating acids and if paired incorrectly, they can do more damage than benefit) — well i did that when i was younger thinking i had acne LOL
⭐️ The Ordinary’s
Niacinimide + Zinc
Hyaluronic Acid + B5
- you can use other brands that state they are the same products but personally for me these are
1. budget friendly
2. quality is just through the roof (idk how they do it)
- there is one con though. these two serums i put on top of one another and if you run them in instead of patting them in, they WILL flake. Even when you’re applying your foundation, you are going to want to CHILL on going nuts with rubbing in your makeup. you just need to be gentle or use your hands to blend.
⭐️ You can use any moisturizer / sunscreen
I actually prefer the La Roshe Posay Sunscreen serum with my belief moisturizer but i ran out, so i’m using my innisfree.
-I like to use La Roche + Belif because they are the most moist and i do like that dewy finish.
⭐️ Elf Halo Glow
- something about this foundation paired with the ordinary’s serums, paired with spending time in the presence of God makes you look like Moses after he was talking with God. TRUST ME WITH THIS
⭐️ NYX HD Translucent Setting Powder
- Don’t ask me why, but I love this stuff. Not only is it budget friendly, but it’s also SO good. I personally don’t like using the slightly tinted powders, nothing against them. But i like my makeup to look like second skin. I want it to look like I’m not in a full glam. This blurs those pores and rids shine in the areas needed for you to not look too shiny.
⭐️ Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
- Okay. So you know how I was talking about the flakes building up if you a little crazy? well this right here is the holy grail to sort of make them disappear. That and it just adds some moisture back in after your translucent powder.

Hey everyone! We all dream of that flawless, 'filter-finish' skin, right? I totally get it, and after a lot of trial and error, I’ve found some amazing products and techniques that genuinely help achieve that smooth, blurred look in real life. Beyond just the products I mentioned earlier, let’s dive a little deeper into how to maximize their effect and build a routine that truly works, especially for sensitive skin. Starting with your cleanser is key. A gentle, WATER BASED CLEANSER is a non-negotiable for me, especially for maintaining a healthy skin barrier. If you're like me and have sensitive skin or have accidentally over-exfoliated in the past, a mild cleanser prevents further stripping and keeps your skin happy. After cleansing, incorporating a hydrating WATER BASED TONER can make a huge difference. I've heard great things about the ABIB CALMING TONER for soothing skin, or if you want a gentle exfoliation without overdoing it, a PHA + BHA toner like the GLOW RECIPE PHA + BHA TONER can help refine texture without harshness – just remember to use it sparingly if your barrier is still recovering. Now, for serums – The Ordinary’s NIACINIMIDE + ZINC and HYALURONIC ACID + B5 are truly game-changers. Niacinamide is fantastic for evening out skin tone, minimizing the appearance of pores, and regulating oil production, which all contribute to that smooth BLUR EFFECT. Hyaluronic Acid, as you know, is a hydration powerhouse, plumping up your skin to reduce fine lines. My trick to avoid flaking with these? Always apply to slightly damp skin! After your toner, pat a few drops of Hyaluronic Acid first, let it absorb for a minute, then follow with Niacinamide. Don't rub them in; gently pat until absorbed. This layering technique helps them sink in beautifully without pilling, even under makeup. Next up, moisturizer and SPF are non-negotiable for both skin health and a perfect makeup base. While I love my BELIF AQUABOMB MOISTURIZER for that dewy look, I often reach for my INNISFREE MOISTURIZER + SPF when I need convenience. Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial, not just to prevent damage, but also to maintain an even skin tone and texture over time, which forms the ultimate foundation for a 'filter finish.' These moisturizers create a hydrated canvas, allowing your makeup to glide on smoothly. For makeup, the ELF HALO GLOW is truly magical. It gives a gorgeous, luminous base without looking heavy. To enhance its BLUR EFFECT, I apply it with my fingers or a damp sponge, focusing on gentle patting motions rather than harsh rubbing. This helps it meld seamlessly with your skin. The final touch for that perfect finish is setting everything with a good powder and spray. The HD TRANSLUCENT FINISHING POWDER by NYX is amazing for targeting shine in your T-zone and truly blurring pores without adding coverage or changing your foundation shade. A light dusting is all you need. And to melt everything together and lock it in for hours, the URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER SETTING SPRAY is a lifesaver. It not only extends wear but also takes away any powdery look, helping your skin look naturally perfected – like you just woke up with a filter on! Remember, consistency is key with skincare. Listen to your skin, patch test new products, and don't be afraid to adjust your routine based on how your skin feels. With these tips and products, you’ll be well on your way to achieving that dream 'filter finish' every single day!
