SKIN: Repairing your Skin Barrier
So over the past year I got sent a ton of skincare products. Many that I loved and went a little
crazy with in mixing and destroying my skin barrier.
Note: it is possible to destroy your skin barrier with too many products.
Let me show you what i’m using to fix it.
1. The Ordinary AHA + BHA Peeing Solution 1-2x a week
(you should start with 1x a week at night ONLY)
2. The Ordinary Fermented Milky Toner
(you want to use a moisturizing toner opposed to something like glow recipe because that contains AHA as well and would be double stripping your skin )
3. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5
(again this serum is aimed towards hydration, you want as much hydration after using a peeling solution.) - Personally I am using this both morning and night.
4. Sunday Riley’s B Nice Niacinimide
(I recommend using this Serum if you are in need of switching it up from using a hyaluronic acid and your skin needs some extra UMPH — also aids with any breakouts)
5. Meebak Cica Gel Moisturizer
(you can use any moisturizer, i just find Gel moisturizers add more moisture and bounce to my skin to keep my skin hydrated and balanced)
6. Innisfree Sunscreen
(you can use any sunscreen, however It is a MUST. The peeling solution is probably the harshest thing on your skin and so you want to keep your skin from damage by using a sunscreen everyday!! The higher the SPF the better) I am currently rotating from Abib + Innisfree.
Best of Luck with your Skincare barrier repair!!! 🤍🤍🤍

Maintaining a healthy skin barrier is essential for overall skin health. The skin barrier protects against environmental aggressors and helps retain moisture. Overusing skincare products can lead to irritation and barrier damage. To properly repair your skin barrier, it's crucial to incorporate gentle, hydrating products while minimizing exfoliation. Start with a cleanser that respects your skin’s natural moisture, followed by a hydrating toner like The Ordinary Fermented Milky Toner. After cleansing, serums containing hyaluronic acid can provide added moisture—opt for The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5 for deep hydration. Managing breakouts while focusing on barrier repair can be tricky, as many acne treatments may be harsh. Incorporating milder options, such as Sunday Riley’s B Nice Niacinamide, can help balance oil production and heal skin without causing additional dryness. Additionally, using a soothing moisturizer like Meebak Cica Gel can significantly enhance hydration and support skin repair. When it comes to sunscreen, it's essential—especially after chemical peels. Choose a broad-spectrum formula with high SPF to prevent further damage to your compromised barrier. Daily application protects against UV damage, ensuring your skin remains healthy during the healing process. Remember, consistency is key. Stick to your skincare routine, reduce external stressors, and allow time for your skin to recover. Don't hesitate to consult a dermatologist if your skin shows signs of severe irritation or damage. With patience and the right products, your skin can bounce back to a resilient and healthy state.
