1. Happy Medium 🪐
When I think of a happy medium, I envision an oasis to escape from city life and immerse myself in a realm of calmness and creativity. The atmosphere exudes an artistic vibe, which drew me in for a figure drawing class. While it might not suit everyone's tastes, it proved invaluable for me as a creative person navigating through a block. Witnessing people engrossed in their own creative pursuits was inspiring, and the staff were both professional and laid-back. I would definitely return here; whether alone, as I did, or with friends and colleagues, the experience was truly worth it.
2. Boyar Gifts 💿
It is a wonderful gift store that has unique New York gifts and souvenirs, different than most stores in this category. We loved the variety of gifts from popular TV series such as Friends and Sex and the City.
3. Sweet Pickle Books 🧸
Adorable little bookshop that sells actual pickles and quirky pickle merch! It's tiny and full of books but is the perfect spot to just browse the shelves and indulge in used books.
4. Coming Soon 🎀
A fun and eclectic selection of housewares - making it almost worth wading into this bananas housing market to consider buying a home just to decorate it with their products...
5. Bookmarc 📚
This is the type of book store you'd expect to find in your favorite museum. While primarily art and photography books, you may also find some very cool cookbooks, poetry, and collectibles, like a signed photo of Patti Smith, or a limited run of miniature Warhol Brillo Boxes. This is one of my favorite places.
