What if the Warriors built a dynasty in the ’90s instead of breaking up?

As a long-time Golden State Warriors fan, there's always one 'what if' that lingers in my mind: What if Run TMC never broke up? The thought of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin continuing to electrify the league together, showcasing their incredible scoring and playmaking, is pure basketball fantasy. That's why diving into NBA 2K's dynasty mode to make this dream a reality is one of my favorite gaming experiences. For those who might not know, Run TMC was a dynamic trio that captivated the NBA in the early 90s. Tim Hardaway, with his killer crossover; Mitch Richmond, the smooth scorer; and Chris Mullin, the sharpshooting lefty. They were an offensive juggernaut, playing an exciting, fast-paced brand of basketball that was ahead of its time. Their chemistry was undeniable, but sadly, the team broke them up, trading Richmond to the Kings in 1991. Many of us can only imagine the dynasty they could have built if they had stayed together. In my recent NBA 2K25 simulation, using the fantastic 'NBA ERAS' mode, I committed to keeping that core intact. My mission? To build a championship-winning Golden State Warriors team around Hardaway, Richmond, and Mullin. It wasn't just about winning games; it was about honoring the legacy of what could have been. I focused on surrounding them with complementary players, like the versatile Sarunas Marciulionis or a strong inside presence, much like how teams would build around their stars in those classic eras. I even considered trades for players like Dennis Rodman, as seen in some of the game's trade screens, to bolster the team's defensive and rebounding prowess, ensuring our dynasty was well-rounded. Building this team in dynasty mode is incredibly rewarding. You get to manage everything from player development to trades, ensuring that the original Run TMC core remains the heart of your franchise. Seeing Mullin knocking down threes, Hardaway crossing over defenders, and Richmond driving to the basket, all in their prime, and finally holding up the championship trophy, felt like a true accomplishment. It’s a joy to rewrite history and give these legends the glory they deserved. If you're a Warriors fan or just love a good 'what if' scenario, I highly recommend trying this challenge in NBA 2K. It's a fantastic way to appreciate the talent of Run TMC and experience the thrill of building a dynasty from the ground up, all while imagining the real-world impact they could have had together. Who knows, you might even discover some underrated players from that era, like Victor Alexander or Mario Elie, who could be crucial pieces to your virtual championship puzzle!
