My simple summer

Everyone goes back to school and gets asked the big question. What did you do this summer. This summer my daughter went to two Bible Camps and then hung around with family and friends the remaining of the summer. I gave her structure and consistency all summer because that is what she, and us all, needed. For the parents who couldn’t do the big extravagant summers, I’m with you. #parenting #littlethings #structure

... Read moreSummer is often a time filled with big plans and adventures, but not every family can or wants to have a lavish itinerary. What truly matters is creating a healthy and supportive environment for children that nurtures growth and happiness. Incorporating structure and consistency into a child’s summer helps them feel secure and develop healthy habits. For instance, attending Bible camps not only provides spiritual growth but also encourages social interaction and new friendships. In addition, spending quality time with family and friends reinforces valuable bonds and creates memories that children cherish. Simple activities like sharing a nutritious lunch with wholesome options such as orange juice and scrambled eggs, as mentioned in the imagery, contribute to forming healthy habits that improve life long-term. Embracing these 'little things' can make a significant difference. A 'safe space' where children can transform and grow nurtures their mental and emotional well-being. Parents who provide consistent routines and meaningful time together help build resilience and confidence in their children. This approach aligns well with the concept of focusing on what’s truly important—growth, love, and stability—rather than extravagance. So whether your summer plans involve camps, family hangouts, or just a healthy rhythm of daily life, these elements combine to create a positive and fulfilling summer experience for both kids and parents.
