5 signs your mental health is getting worse

... Read moreFrom my personal experience, recognizing the subtle changes in mental health can be a real challenge because they often creep up gradually. I found that the first sign was feeling overwhelmingly exhausted even by simple tasks such as getting out of bed or making a meal. This exhaustion drained my motivation and made me question my capabilities. Another sign I encountered was losing interest in hobbies and activities that used to bring me joy. For instance, I used to love reading and meeting friends, but I found myself avoiding these because they felt more like chores than pleasure. This detachment extended to social withdrawal, where I started replying less to messages and cancelling plans without any clear reason, which concerned my close friends. The most impactful change was in my self-talk—I started being much harsher on myself. I noticed a constant inner critic, unfairly comparing myself to others and focusing on my perceived flaws. This negative thinking pattern reinforced feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness. Lastly, I realized I was merely surviving from one day to the next instead of truly living. This stark realization made me seek support through mental health apps like Venty, which helped me better understand and manage my emotions. Acknowledging these signs and reaching out for help was critical in my journey toward recovery. If you notice these signs in yourself, it’s important to remember that you’re not alone, and support is available.
