A veces me preguntan cómo sigo.
Y no puedo abandonarlo.
Porque si me quito hoy…
no le estaría fallando a Hollywood.
No le estaría fallando a la industria.
Le estaría fallando a ese niño.
Y eso no lo puedo hacer.
Así que sigo.
Confundido algunas veces.
Cansado otras.
Y mientras esa parte siga viva…
yo también seguiré.

I am 39 years old.
And I’m not afraid to say that I’ve auditioned 93 times.
Ninety-three.
Ninety-three times I prepared scenes.
Ninety-three times I studied characters.
Ninety-three times I put a piece of myself out into the world.
And all 93 times, I heard no.
People ask me how I keep going.
The truth is…
sometimes I don’t know.
Because rejection is heavy.
There are days when I wonder if I’m chasing something that will never happen.
Days when I’m still trying to figure out who I am.
And where I’m going.
But then I remember something.
I remember the 11-year-old boy who stepped onto a stage for the first time to perform Juan Bobo.
That boy didn’t know anything about Hollywood.
He didn’t know anything about agents.
He didn’t know anything about rejection.
He only knew that he loved acting.
And every time I think about giving up…
I think about him.
I think about the excitement in his eyes.
I think about the dream that was born on that stage.
And I can’t abandon him.
Because if I quit today…
I wouldn’t be failing Hollywood.
I wouldn’t be failing the industry.
I’d be failing that little boy.
And I can’t do that.
So I keep going.
Confused sometimes.
Tired sometimes.
Scared sometimes.
But still moving forward.
Because I still believe.
Because I still dream.
Because a part of me knows this story isn’t over yet.
And as long as that part is alive…
so am I.
