Just another day putting in work. The cut is just about done. About to transition into a bulk. Currently weighting 206. I will be building up to 230lbs. #PhotoDump#gympic#gymtime#gym rat in process

It was definitely a grind, staying disciplined with my diet and pushing through workouts even when energy levels dipped. I've been hitting the gym consistently, often rocking my favorite black and white sleeveless shirt and black shorts, and always make sure to grab a quick mirror selfie to track my progress. You know, sometimes you just need that visual reminder of how far you've come. I’ve probably taken countless selfies in front of that big mirror, sometimes even with my grey cap on after a particularly sweaty session!
Now, the excitement for bulking is real! My target is to reach 230 lbs, which means a significant shift in my diet and training. No more strict calorie deficits; it's time to fuel growth! I'm planning to increase my protein intake, add healthy carbs, and maybe even a few more healthy fats. It's not just about eating *more*, but eating *smart*. My workouts will also evolve. While I’ll still be lifting heavy, I'll be focusing more on progressive overload to stimulate maximum muscle growth. I love seeing the variety of equipment in the gym, from the heavy free weights to the machines, and even that green turf area where some people do sprint drills. It always reminds me there are so many ways to challenge your body.
For the diet, I'm thinking clean bulk – lots of lean protein sources like chicken, fish, and eggs, complex carbs such as oats, brown rice, and sweet potatoes, and healthy fats from avocados, nuts, and olive oil. I'm aiming for around 4000-4500 calories a day to support this muscle growth, but I'll be adjusting based on how my body responds. It’s a delicate balance; you want to gain muscle, not just fat!
Speaking of which, one of the biggest challenges with bulking is avoiding the 'dirty bulk' trap. It’s easy to just eat everything in sight, but then you end up with more fat than muscle, which makes the next cut even harder. That’s why tracking my macros and ensuring I’m getting quality nutrients is crucial. I’ll also be incorporating some strategic cheat meals, not to go wild, but to keep my metabolism revved and my sanity intact! My training split will probably shift to something like push/pull/legs, with a greater emphasis on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses, to really hit those big muscle groups. I’m excited to see my strength numbers climb again. It’s incredibly motivating to lift heavier than before. Sometimes I even notice other gym-goers checking out my progress, which is a cool feeling. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m ready for the next chapter!
