Look at these best boys!
Met these two at the opening weekend for this year’s Hudson Farmer’s Market. #market #ohio #northeastohio #photography #dogs Hudson
There's just something about seeing happy dogs out and about that instantly makes your day better, isn't there? Especially when you stumble upon them unexpectedly, like I did at the Hudson Farmer's Market last weekend. It was the opening weekend, and the buzz was incredible, but these two 'best boys' truly stole the show! One was this absolutely charming brown and white curly-haired dog, who I'd guess was a Poodle mix. Its expression was pure joy, mouth slightly open, looking around like it was soaking in all the market excitement. Then there was the white and black spotted curly-haired pup, sitting so attentively in its black harness, tongue out, just watching everything with wide, happy eyes. They both had that wonderful, slightly 'goofy ahh' charm that makes you want to stop and say hello. It got me thinking about how much I love finding dog-friendly spots in Northeast Ohio. The Hudson Farmer's Market, for instance, is such a gem! If you're ever in the area, it's a must-visit, not just for the fresh produce and local crafts, but for the chance to meet some amazing furry friends. Many farmer's markets across Ohio are becoming increasingly welcoming to well-behaved pets, turning a simple shopping trip into a delightful outing for both humans and their canine companions. It's always a good idea to check their specific rules beforehand, but generally, leashed dogs are welcome in outdoor areas. What makes these 'market dogs' so special? I think it's their genuine curiosity and the way they interact with the bustling environment. They're often so well-socialized, enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells. You see them patiently waiting while their humans shop, or eagerly greeting passersby with a gentle wag. It’s a real testament to how much joy our pets bring into our lives, and how much they enrich our community spaces. Seeing those two happy faces, especially the one with its tongue happily out, just reminded me of the simple pleasures. If you're like me and can't resist saying hi to a cute dog, remember to always ask the owner's permission first! Not all dogs are keen on strangers, and some might be working or training. But most owners are thrilled to share their 'best boys' or 'best girls' with admirers. A quick 'Can I pet your dog?' goes a long way. And always approach calmly and let the dog sniff your hand first. It's a small interaction, but it can create such a memorable moment, adding an extra layer of warmth to your market visit. So next time you're exploring a farmer's market or any public event in Ohio, keep an eye out for these wonderful canine companions. You might just find your own 'goofy ahh' dog that makes your day, just like these two did for me at Hudson!
