Their morning energy is contagious, and the first order of business is always a quick potty break, followed by breakfast. I've found that a consistent feeding schedule really helps keep my doxxen happy and healthy. After breakfast, it's usually cuddle time on the couch – they are such snugglers, aren't they? Mid-morning often involves a short walk. Even though doxxens have short legs, they have surprisingly high energy levels and love exploring. It's crucial for their physical and mental health. I always make sure to use a harness, not just a collar, to protect their sensitive backs – a common concern for the doxxen breed. Sometimes we'll do a quick training session, reinforcing basic commands. They can be a bit stubborn, but with positive reinforcement and high-value treats, my doxxen is surprisingly quick to learn new tricks! It’s all about patience and making it fun for them. After lunch, it's usually nap time for my doxxen. They are true masters of finding the coziest spot, often burrowing deep under blankets or pillows. If you own a doxxen, you know their love for tunneling! I often find mine completely hidden, just a little bump in the duvet. This is when I usually get my work done, knowing they're happily dreaming. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, they'll join me for some quiet time, just lounging near my feet. Their presence is so comforting. As evening approaches, the energy picks up again! We might have another play session with their favorite squeaky toys or a chew bone. Dinner is served around the same time each day, followed by another potty break. The evening is all about winding down. My doxxen loves to snuggle up on the couch while I watch TV or read. I always make sure to give them plenty of belly rubs and ear scratches before bed. They truly become part of the family, and I wouldn't trade these moments for anything. If you're thinking of getting a doxxen, or already have one, remember a few things. Their long backs need protection, so discourage jumping from high places and always support their body when picking them up. Regular, moderate exercise is key, but avoid overexertion. Mental stimulation is also super important; puzzle toys and training keep their clever minds engaged. And prepare for endless love and loyalty! Living with a doxxen is an adventure filled with laughter, cuddles, and sometimes a bit of mischief. They truly make every day brighter.
