DragonCon 2025 was truly a celebration of fantasy, creativity, and community. Beyond the fun panels on Fantasy Lit, High Fantasy, and Alt History, attendees had the chance to experience unique narrative explorations and meet special guests who enriched the event. The diverse programming included in-depth discussions on alternate history fiction, blending real historical events with imaginative twists that sparked lively conversations and inspired new ideas. One must-not-miss aspect of DragonCon was the dynamic atmosphere that returned after a long hiatus. The energy from in-person interactions, warm hugs, and shared laughter reminded everyone of the power of community in fandom culture. As cosplay enthusiasts, writers, and readers mingled, new friendships formed, and passions for fantasy romance and speculative fiction were reignited. Panels hosted by notable authors and fantasy experts brought fresh perspectives to genre storytelling and expanded the horizons of what fantasy romance and high fantasy can offer. For example, the Alt History track offered deep dives into how authors reimagine history’s course, providing both entertainment and thoughtful reflection. Moreover, the event highlighted the importance of connecting through storytelling, with the Fantasy Romance track delivering heartfelt narratives that resonated with many fans. The presence of creators like Valerie Willis and others amplified the experience, featuring varied sessions scheduled throughout the convention that showcased their creative process and career insights. For those who missed DragonCon 2025, exploring recorded sessions and engaging with online fan communities tagged #DragonCon2025, #FantasyLit, #HighFantasy, #AltHistory, and #FantasyRomance is a great way to immerse oneself in the convention’s spirit until the next gathering. Overall, DragonCon continues to be a beacon for genre fans worldwide, fostering an inclusive space to celebrate all things fantastical and historically reimagined.
