From my experience, anticipating triggers in the walking environment helps to stay prepared. Avoiding areas where wildlife or sudden noises may spark a chase impulse can reduce the chances of being dragged. Additionally, having another person assist during walks can provide extra control and safety. Understanding the behavior of large dogs and preparing accordingly enhances the walking experience. Despite these challenges, walking a massive dog can be rewarding with proper preparation, patience, and awareness of their unpredictability when they decide to take a chance.
