What I found out today
I did not know that the Bible says that it is ok to preach Jesus, no matter your motives. Am I wrong for getting this understanding?????????#readingthroughmybible #findgod🙏🏼📖 #biblecrazy #i love reading my bible #i love reading the bible
That initial discovery from Philippians 1 truly blew my mind, and I've been reflecting on it ever since! It's such a freeing truth to realize that when it comes to sharing the good news of Jesus, the message itself holds power, sometimes even beyond our own imperfect intentions. When I first read Philippians 1:15-18, where Paul talks about some preaching Christ out of envy and rivalry, and others from goodwill, my immediate thought was, 'Wait, seriously? Even bad motives?' But Paul's response is profound: 'The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.' This isn't an endorsement of bad motives; rather, it’s a powerful affirmation of God's ability to work through any circumstance to advance His kingdom. It highlights the sovereignty of God and the inherent power of the gospel message itself. For me, this takes so much pressure off. How many times have I held back from sharing my faith, thinking, 'My motives aren't pure enough,' or 'I'm not spiritual enough to talk about this'? This passage reminds us that God isn't looking for perfect vessels; He's looking for available ones. The focus shifts entirely from my performance and internal purity to His message and its transformative power. The ultimate goal is that Christ is preached, and that's what truly matters in the end. This understanding has really challenged my own perfectionism when it comes to evangelism. So, what does this look like in our daily lives? It means we can confidently share a word of hope, invite a friend to church, or simply talk about how Jesus has impacted us, without overthinking our internal state. Maybe we're feeling a bit competitive with another Christian, or perhaps we just want to look good to others – not ideal motives, right? But if in that sharing, Christ is genuinely presented, God can still use it for His glory. It's like God is saying, 'Just get the message out there! I'll take care of the rest.' This perspective encourages a more organic, less self-conscious approach to sharing our faith. This doesn't mean we stop striving for pure motives – of course, we should always pray for a heart aligned with God's and examine our intentions. However, it gives us immense grace and courage to act *now*, even when we feel inadequate. It encourages us to step out, knowing that God's plan is bigger than our imperfections and that His Word will not return void. It's a powerful call to simply 'preach it,' in whatever genuine way we can, letting the power of the Gospel speak for itself. What an incredible reassurance and liberation this has been for my faith journey!
