My FIRST ever harvest. I did it! woooo
🌿 Today’s Garden Harvest 🌿
I did it!!! I was so ready to get to work on it today. This week I gave my little container garden a haircut and came inside with a mix of homegrown herbs and veggies: fresh basil, mint, cilantro, and scallions, plus one tomato and a habanero pepper.
Not everything is perfect. Some basil leaves are a bit rough, and the mint could use better airflow to keep it spot-free. My tomato ripened nicely, but I’ll prune and feed earlier next time for a bigger, juicier harvest. The plant already has several more flowers coming in so we will see. Uh, my lettuce? well, I guess it’s more like micro-greens. I’m going to try sowing lettuce seeds in a row next season instead to try for full grown lettuce that time 😅.
The pepper plant is doing well and getting over its illness but I think (hopefully) a bigger pot will give me even more fruit. I’m going to be transplanting a few of my plants actually and I’ll post that next. 📸
Even with the imperfections, this small organic gardening journey feels so rewarding! This harvest teaches me something new, and I love seeing how a few simple changes can make each round of homegrown produce better.

Gardening is cool and all, but I can barely keep my succulents alive. Maybe I’ll stick to ordering takeout
