💭What's on my mind:

My absolute gem of a mother went In and cleaned my entire room, made my bed and did my laundry while I’m incapacitated. I cannot get over how much I love her. I would love to finally be able to do super mundane things like cleaning my room or shaving my legs or even just showering again. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to be clean, but I’ve got dry shampoo and deodorant to keep me ✨clean ish✨ and not smelling like shit.

I’ve started watching What we do in the shadows now that it’s finished and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Current Mood: Pained. Grateful.

After experiencing incapacitation, it’s common to feel overwhelmed by the simple tasks we once took for granted, such as cleaning and personal hygiene. Embracing recovery is not just about physical healing; it's also about mental and emotional well-being. Engaging in activities like watching a beloved TV show can provide a much-needed distraction and help alleviate stress during tough times. For instance, shows like 'What We Do in the Shadows' offer humor and familiarity, making it easier to navigate through personal challenges while providing a sense of community through shared experiences. Additionally, it’s essential to acknowledge the impact of family support during recovery. The simple gesture of having a mother clean your room can be incredibly comforting and serve as a reminder of the love that surrounds us. Expressing gratitude for these acts can amplify our emotional resilience. Finally, understanding that many people face similar feelings during their recovery fosters a sense of connection. Discussion platforms and supportive communities enable individuals to voice their thoughts and share experiences, fostering a safe space for expression. Recovery is a journey filled with ups and downs, but finding joy in the mundane and cherishing the support of loved ones can make all the difference.
