On July 5th, my pet hamster (Panda) started getting sick. She was coughing, sneezing, and making wheezing sounds, so I gave her some medicine to help ease the symptoms. It was a Sunday, so the only clinic that treats small animals nearby was closed.

The next day, Monday July 6th, I took her to the vet. She had to get an injection because her condition was pretty bad.

On July 7th, I had to take her back again because her eye looked like it was popping out of its socket. The vet said it might be due to eye pressure.

Over the next few days, she seemed to get better. She could eat normally, but I had to hand-feed her since she wouldn't eat on her own.

Everything seemed okay until the 11th, when I noticed pus in her eye. I cleaned it up and gave her the eye drops. But that day, her condition suddenly got worse, and she became really lethargic.

Since she was quite old—and the vet even pointed out that she was a senior hamster—her eye was infected. The vet said the best way to cure the eye was surgery, but because of her old age, it was too risky. So, the vet recommended treating her based on her symptoms instead and kept a close eye on her.

Two days before she passed away, I stroked her head and whispered to her, If it's too hard, you can let go. I can't bear to see you suffer anymore.

On the 13th, she passed away peacefully. No more pain. I buried her in a plant pot.

RIP, Panda. Love and miss you always.

My boyfriend used to tell me, "You know hamsters don't live very long, right?"

Back then, I answered without a second thought, "Oh, we still have plenty of time."

But now that the day has actually come... I realize just how fast time really flies.
