I’m noticing that Bushwick is becoming a hot spot for tourists. crazy , right ?! People are literally doing bus and walking tours here. Going all the places I probably take for granted .

Anywayyyyy, let’s get into this hidden gem 💎

... Read moreAfter countless strolls past Tico's Cafetería in Bushwick, I finally decided to step inside, and what a delightful surprise it was! You know that feeling when you discover a truly authentic spot that just gets it? That's exactly how I felt. It's quickly become my go-to, and I can see why it’s gaining traction as a must-visit for both locals and those exploring NYC beyond the usual tourist traps. Walking in, the warm lighting and inviting atmosphere instantly transported me. It’s got that cozy, lived-in feel that makes you want to settle in with a good book and a strong coffee. I overheard other customers raving, and it really validated my own excitement – this isn't just a cafe, it's a community hub. It truly feels like one of the best cafes for your NYC bucket list. Now, let's talk about the food, because that's why we're here, right? While my original post touched on a few highlights, I want to dive deeper into why Tico's menu truly stands out. Beyond the incredible Cuban sandwich, with its perfectly roasted pork, smoked ham, and Swiss cheese, served with that essential tangy pickle and mustard on pressed Cuban bread – a flavor explosion in every bite – there’s so much more to explore. I highly recommend venturing into their other sandwich creations, like the Garlic Lime Shrimp. The combination of succulent shrimp, fresh greens, pickled onions, and those delightful potato sticks on buttered, pressed Cuban bread is simply addictive. It’s a lighter, yet equally satisfying, option. But Tico's isn't just about sandwiches. Their detailed menu offers a fantastic range of options. If you're an early bird, their breakfast selection looks absolutely divine – think classic Cuban breakfast plates that will fuel your day. I also noticed delicious-looking salads and hearty bowls, perfect for those seeking something fresh or a bit more substantial. And for those with dietary preferences, it's great to know they have thoughtful vegan options available, which isn't always a given in traditional cafeterias. And of course, the drinks! My Cafecito, an espresso with Domino Sugar Espuma, was a small cup of pure joy – the perfect balance of strong coffee and sweet, creamy foam. It’s truly a signature item that you have to try. They also offer a variety of other beverages, including cocktails for those looking to unwind. What truly seals the deal for me is the incredible value. For the quality and authenticity you get, the prices are exceptionally reasonable, making it an ideal spot for a regular treat without breaking the bank. It truly lives up to the reputation of being a fantastic Cuban American Cafetería in Brooklyn, New York. So, if you're ever in Bushwick, or even if you need a reason to visit, Tico's Cafetería is absolutely worth the trip. Come for the authentic Cuban American flavors, stay for the welcoming vibe, and leave with a full belly and a new favorite spot. It's a culinary experience I genuinely recommend to anyone exploring the vibrant food scene of Brooklyn, New York.
