Art is political.
I have been trying to use creating, art, and designing as an outlet for all of the angry energy trapped in my body. It needs a way to get out to avoid implosion.
I have a handful of designs that are currently in progress and once I am finished I plan to make them available on our apparel as well as period products. I'm contemplating having a section for digital art as well so anyone who wants it can use it on whatever medium they choose.
Art has a unique power to channel emotions, especially those that are difficult to express through words alone. From personal experience, I’ve found that creating art during times of political turmoil and heartbreak provides a necessary release that helps prevent emotional overload. Whether it’s sketching, graphic design, or crafting apparel, this creative process allows me to transform raw feelings into something meaningful and tangible. By preparing multiple designs to be featured on apparel and period products, the art becomes both wearable and functional, expanding the impact beyond mere visuals. It’s exciting to think about how these items can offer comfort and solidarity for others who resonate with the feelings behind the work. Additionally, offering digital art versions opens the door for wider use, empowering individuals to personalize their spaces or online presence with art that speaks to political and mental health themes. This approach of creating art as a coping mechanism is not just personal; it reflects a broader trend where many artists use their talents to address social issues and advocate for change. It’s a reminder that art can be deeply political and healing at the same time. For anyone feeling overwhelmed by current events, I encourage exploring art as a form of expression—it might help transform that trapped energy into something constructive and uplifting. Overall, integrating art, politics, and mental health into creative projects helps nurture both personal wellbeing and community awareness. I look forward to sharing these designs and hopefully inspiring others to find their own artistic outlets for emotion and activism.
