✨ Marriage Taught Me This… What’s Yours?

6/14 Edited to

... Read moreMarriage often surprises us with lessons that reshape how we think about love and partnership. One of the most profound realizations I've had is that while love can start as an intense feeling, the real work of marriage is choosing to nurture that love every single day. This daily choice involves patience, communication, forgiveness, and commitment — it’s about showing up, even when emotions fluctuate. In my experience, love without action can fade, but when the choice to love is intentional, it creates a foundation that withstands challenges. Tools like journaling have helped me reflect on my appreciation for my spouse regularly; it brings gratitude and mindfulness into our marriage. Likewise, understanding that laughter and growth are integral to the journey can help couples stay connected. What has stood out the most in marriage is the power of shared vulnerability and support — turning toward one another rather than away during tough times creates deeper bonds. Whether it’s celebrating small wins or navigating struggles together, these moments strengthen the partnership. I encourage you to think about a marriage lesson that has impacted you deeply. Sharing these insights creates a supportive community where experiences become wisdom for others. Remember, your story might be exactly what another wife needs to hear today to feel encouraged and connected in her own marriage journey.

Communication is the key to a happy marriage. And that includes listening. Be slow to respond and quick to listen. Also compromising. No two people are alike in every way. Sometimes you might have to do something he/she likes even though it may not be something you would normally do. But what matters is enjoying each other’s company.
