... Read moreHey Guardians! So you're diving into the Destiny 2 Battlegrounds and those Oracles are giving you a tough time, right? I totally get it! I remember my first few runs, trying to figure out the best way to deal with them without wiping the team. But I've found a few tricks that make these encounters so much smoother, especially if you're a Hunter like me. First off, let's talk about what Battleground Oracles actually are. These aren't your typical Vex Oracles from Vault of Glass; in Battlegrounds, they usually refer to specific high-priority targets or mechanics that pop up during the activity, often requiring focused damage or specific actions to progress. They're basically the game telling you, 'Deal with this now or suffer the consequences!' Failing to deal with them quickly can lead to overwhelming enemy spawns or wipe mechanics. This is where my favorite super comes into play: Golden Gun, or as I like to call it, 'Goldie time!' Seriously, for taking down those critical Oracle targets, especially if they're majors or champions, nothing beats the sheer precision and burst damage. I usually run the Way of the Sharpshooter tree with Celestial Nighthawk. That single, high-damage shot can often be a 'Knock Em Duwn' moment for even the toughest Oracle or its accompanying elite. It's fantastic for ensuring you get that 'Two for one!' or even a 'Triple down!' if there are some pesky adds clustered around the main target. Remember, speed is key here; you don't want to get 'Disrupted 0.00' and lose precious time or your super. Beyond just the Golden Gun, strategy is everything. When an Oracle appears, clear any immediate threats around it, then focus fire. If you have a Warlock with Well of Radiance or a Titan with Ward of Dawn, planting those can give your team the advantage to melt the Oracle quickly. Don't forget your heavy weapons! A good Rocket Launcher or a Linear Fusion Rifle can also put in serious work. I've found weapons with perks like Vorpal Weapon or Focused Fury are excellent for these high-health targets. Another thing to watch out for is the environment. Sometimes, enemies will spawn in tricky spots, or there might be an 'Oculus' type enemy (like a specific Cabal Psion or Vex Hydra) guarding the Oracle that needs to go down first. Communication with your fireteam is super important, especially on higher difficulties. Call out which Oracle you're targeting or if you need help with a specific enemy. For your general loadout, I'd suggest having a primary weapon good for clearing adds, like a SMG or Auto Rifle, then a special weapon for mid-tier enemies – I love a good Fusion Rifle or Shotgun for this. And always, always have a strong heavy weapon for those big damage phases. Exotic armor that boosts your super regen or ability uptime can also be a huge help. For myself, beyond Celestial Nighthawk, I sometimes swap to Star-Eater Scales if I'm confident I can pick up Orbs of Power to get my Goldie back faster. So next time you're in a Battleground and those Oracles pop up, don't panic! Remember your 'Goldie time,' coordinate with your team, and those challenges will feel much more manageable. Happy hunting, Guardians!
