Lately, I’ve been feeling frustrated with myself, and if I’m honest, it’s because I’ve been resistant.
I kept asking God why was everything feeling so heavy and why I felt so stuck in certain areas.
The quiet answer I’ve been sitting with is this: it’s not punishment, it’s pruning. 💡
I’ve been wanting ease, but He’s been calling me to discipline. 📈
I’ve been wanting instant clarity, but He’s been building resilience. I’ve been wanting the promise, but He’s been teaching me obedience.
And obedience doesn’t always feel exciting. Sometimes it feels like saying no when you want to say yes. Logging off when you want to scroll. Waking up when you want to sleep in. Staying consistent when no one is watching.
My frustration wasn’t about delay — it was about resistance. 🤯
Now I’m realizing this season isn’t here to restrict me… it’s here to refine me. The woman I’m becoming is disciplined. She’s resilient. She obeys even when it’s uncomfortable. And because of that, she’s going to be trusted with more. 🙏🏽
Growth feels different when you stop fighting it. 🤍✨
Throughout my own journey, I've found that resisting growth often stems from a desire for comfort and immediate clarity. However, true transformation requires accepting discomfort and consistent effort—even when it feels easier to stay stuck. The idea of pruning resonates deeply; much like a gardener trims a plant to encourage healthier growth, life’s challenges are opportunities to shed unhelpful patterns and strengthen character. I recall moments where I had to say no to old habits or distractions, similar to choosing to log off social media to create mental space. It wasn’t always enjoyable, but it was necessary to nurture my resilience and discipline. This constant practice sharpened my sense of obedience—not in a restrictive way, but as a commitment to values and long-term goals. Over time, I noticed a profound shift in mindset: what once felt like resistance became acceptance, and resistance transformed into growth. The affirmations highlighted in the images, like "You're being built," "capable of doing hard things," and "worthy of being loved," played a crucial role in sustaining me. Repeating these truths helps to reinforce self-worth and provides motivation to keep pushing forward despite difficulties. It’s important to remember that growth isn’t linear; there will be days filled with doubt and frustration, but embracing the process allows us to become stronger, more disciplined versions of ourselves. For anyone feeling stuck or questioning their path, I recommend reflecting on what you’re resisting and why. Consider framing challenges as pruning that prepares you for bigger opportunities ahead. Celebrate small wins of discipline and resilience, such as waking up on time or choosing focus over distraction. Those small acts accumulate, building a foundation for obedience to your deeper purpose. Ultimately, growth thrives when we stop fighting the process and start trusting it. This season of refinement is not a setback but a vital step toward becoming someone who can handle greater responsibility and blessings. By embracing discipline and resilience daily, we align ourselves with a higher purpose, ready to receive more and live authentically.
