She took Max and disappeared.

Monday. Shelter calls.

"Your dog's here. Critical.

Better hurry."

Race there. Max barely alive. 😭

"Estrogen toxicity. Severe.

Bone marrow suppression starting."

"What?? How??"

Neighbor brought him in.

"Apartment door was open.

Dog alone for days. No food.

Feces everywhere. Water bowl empty." 😰

My ex finally answers phone.

"Yeah, went to Vegas. So what?"

"MAX ATE SOMETHING!"

"Oh. My birth control maybe?

Left it on coffee table."

An entire month's pack. 💔

Vet examining Max. Gums pale.

Bruising appearing. Nose bleeding.

"Platelets crashing. Internal bleeding starting.

How long ago?"

"Maybe 4 days? She left Thursday."

FOUR DAYS. ALONE. STARVING.

Birth control destroying his blood. 😭

Vet pulls out PawMergency:
