Cooper. My first real dog.
Taught me unconditional love existed.
Then taught me how it ends.
Three years old. Perfect health.
Fourth of July barbecue.
Kids feeding him under table. 😭
Grapes. Maybe a handful.
"Dogs love fruit!"
Nobody said stop. I didn't know.
Next morning. Vomiting.
"Probably the hamburgers."
Waited. Got worse. 😰
Afternoon. Can't walk.
Won't drink. Gums pale.
Finally rushed to vet.
"Acute kidney failure. Grapes.
How long ago?"
"Yesterday? Is that bad?" 💔
24 hours. Too long.
Kidneys shutting down.
Cooper dying. My fault.
"Why didn't you come immediately?"
"I DIDN'T KNOW GRAPES WERE TOXIC!"
Nobody told me. Ever. 😭
Cooper passed July 6th.
Three years old.
Soul dog gone.
Changed everything. Obsessed with learning.
What else can kill them?
Chocolate. Medications. THC. 😰
Found out about activated charcoal.
Years too late for Cooper.
Not too late for others.
Vet confirmed:
"This is PawMergency. It's what we use here.
Activated charcoal. Give immediately.
Absorbs grapes, chocolate, medications, THC.
Would've saved Cooper if given right away." 💔
Cooper taught me love.
His death taught me preparation.
Can't bring him back.
Dogs don't know grapes kill.
They trust us to know.
For responsible pet parents, you can find PawMergency activated charcoal for dogs on Amazon.
Link in bio.
😭 Comment "SAVE" and I'll DM you what I keep in my pet's first aid kit.
I'm sharing so Cooper's death means something.
One handful of grapes. Three years of love ended.
Don't let your story end like mine. 💔 #dogs #dogstory #mydog #usa🇺🇸 #usadogs
