I underwent two surgeries back-to-back, leaving me paralyzed for three years and labeled as ‘disabled.’ I hate that word—it makes me feel inferior. I now prefer calling us ‘flawed but unique.’🤒
Time has felt both slow and fast for me over these years—a strange sensation. During the pain, every day dragged on endlessly, but now at 31, looking back, it feels like those four years passed in the blink of an eye.
From learning to stand, practicing walking, trying to control my bladder and bowel movements, to standing tall again—it’s like my 30-year-old soul lived through a second childhood, starting at age three.
