Here’s how I improve the image quality on the DJI Pocket 3:
Step 1: Cut the clutter
▪️ Don’t put a film on the lens — it’ll blur the image.
▪️ Remove filters when you’re done — don’t leave them on for every scene. Even high-end filters like black mist or soft focus reduce clarity.
Step 2: Best settings
Color mode:
▫️ If you know how to color grade, use D-Log — better dynamic range and editing flexibility. Slightly underexpose by 0.3–0.7 stops.
▪️ If not, just stick to Standard color — looks better than bad grading.
Sharpness & Noise Reduction:
▪️ Sharpness: -2 to avoid fake, plastic-like look.
▪️ Noise Reduction: -1 to keep more details.
Compression format:
▪️ HEVC (H.265) = better quality, smaller file size, but heavier on your computer.
▪️ H.264 = more compatible, easier to edit.
Resolution & Frame Rate:
▪️ 4K 30fps for daily use
▪️ 4K 60fps if you want to slow footage down later
Exposure & ISO:
▪️ Auto works fine most of the time
▪️ For night shots, lock ISO manually between 50–1600 to avoid too much noise
White Balance:
▪️ Auto is usually good.
▪️ For consistent skin tone, use auto to get a number, then lock it manually (subtract ~300) — redo this when lighting changes.
Step 3: Shooting tips
Lighting:
▪️ Front lighting = clear subject & background
▪️ Side/45° light = more depth
▪️ Backlight = harder to see, adjust angle to fix
Zoom:
▪️ Use 2x lossless zoom — keeps image quality intact!
Composition:
▪️ Use leading lines to guide attention
▪️ Low angle shots = less clutter, makes trees/buildings look grand
▪️ Frame your subject with doorways/windows for extra interest
Post-processing
Color correction (for Log footage):
▪️ Import the official LUT into CapCut, apply it, then adjust warmth and brightness as needed.
Export tips:
▪️ Use a card reader to copy files from the SD card — this keeps full quality (beauty filters won’t carry over, but image stays sharp).
▪️ Want beauty mode? Export from the Mimo app on your phone.
▪️ Want clean footage? Export via computer or drag files directly from the camera.
