Hey Guardians! If you're anything like me, you've probably spent countless hours grinding in Destiny 2's Gambit, that unique blend of PvE and PvP. It's a mode that constantly keeps you on your toes, and honestly, it's one of my favorites for streaming because you never know what's going to happen next! Playing Gambit with a full clan fireteam is one thing – you have comms, you know each other's roles, and strategies are generally smoother. But let's be real, often we're jumping in with one or two clanmates and filling the rest of the spots with randoms. This can be a wild ride, ranging from perfectly synchronized victories to utterly chaotic defeats. And that's where the real fun often lies, especially when you're streaming and reacting live! My recent session with a couple of my clan buddies and two randoms was a prime example. We started strong, collecting motes like pros, but then an invader came in with a Gjallarhorn and wiped us. Classic Gambit! The key strategy I always try to push, whether with clan or randoms, is communication – even if it's just pinging locations or using emotes. When you have randoms, try to adapt to their playstyle quickly. Notice if someone's a dedicated invader, or if another prefers clearing adds. Flexibility is your best friend. For mote collection, it’s always tempting to grab everything, but sometimes it's better to let a teammate get the 15 motes for a large blocker, especially if you're close to a power ammo spawn. And speaking of blockers, those small and medium blockers can be surprisingly annoying. Don't underestimate clearing them quickly to prevent enemy motes from draining. My personal favorite is sending a couple of Phalanxes – they are just pure evil for the enemy team! When it comes to invading, timing is everything. Don't just jump through the portal blindly. Wait for your team to bank motes, or for the enemy team to be low on health after a Primeval slayer phase. A well-timed invasion can turn the tide of the match. I often watch for those moments, and if I’m invading, I try to prioritize the biggest threat – usually the mote collector or anyone carrying heavy ammo. And if you're on defense against an invader, always look for cover! Don't challenge them in the open, especially if they have an overshield. Use your supers wisely; a well-placed Nova Bomb or Thundercrash can clear adds and instantly melt an invader. Or, if you're like me, sometimes you just get lucky with a panic super! One of the biggest lessons I've learned from streaming Gambit on Twitch, under my channel "IZZYSSELECTE", is that sometimes you just have to laugh it off. Not every game will be a flawless victory, and that's okay! The community aspect, sharing those epic clutch moments, or even the hilarious fails, is what makes it so engaging. It’s not just about winning; it’s about the journey and the stories you create along the way. So next time you jump into Gambit, whether it's with your best clanmates or a group of total strangers, remember to have fun, adapt, and maybe even share your own wild Gambit tales! What are your favorite Gambit strategies or craziest moments?
