I think when I was first starting out, I had a hard time figuring out what kind of photography I’d specialize in. I experimented often with product photography, but never got into my element. Once I started shooting in studio, or with small teams.. I knew I wanted to take it further.
I have a deep appreciation for portraiture, fashion and beauty. I collected magazines under my bed, cut some out and collage it. I had huge dreams of making my way to a magazine spread.
With next week being my 29th birthday, I am wishing to make my dreams of being published on a magazine to come true for this new year. Manifesting it!!!

Looking back at my photography journey in the 2010s, it's fascinating to see how much the 'Instagram aesthetic' influenced visual culture. During 2014-2018, everyone was experimenting with specific filters, vibrant color grading, or a moody, desaturated look. For me, it was less about strictly following every trend and more about finding my own authentic voice within that evolving landscape. I loved exploring how to capture a certain vibe – that feeling of effortless cool, genuine emotion, or aspirational beauty that defined so many feeds. It pushed me to think more critically about composition, light, and how to tell a story with a single image, whether it was a candid shot or a carefully posed portrait. The challenge was always to create something that felt both contemporary to the 2010s but also timeless, reflecting the individual's unique essence. My deep appreciation for portraiture, fashion, and beauty truly blossomed during this time. I remember collecting magazines under my bed, not just for the stunning fashion spreads, but for how they celebrated diverse forms of beauty. This inspired me to think about inclusivity and representation in my own work. My goal has always been to make people feel truly seen and celebrated through my lens, moving beyond conventional standards. Whether I was photographing a woman confidently posing in a black swimsuit, capturing the vibrant energy of someone in a floral bikini top, or highlighting unique features like voluminous curly brown hair or a striking reddish-brown beard, I strived to showcase genuine beauty in all its forms. It’s about more than just a pretty face; it’s about capturing the spirit, strength, and individual narrative of each person. This pursuit of authentic beauty extends to appreciating all body types and expressions. I truly believe photography has a powerful role in challenging narrow beauty standards and promoting body positivity. Every person brings their own unique story and aesthetic to a photoshoot, and as a photographer, my greatest joy comes from translating that into a compelling image. It's about finding that perfect angle, that illuminating light, that fleeting moment that truly highlights their essence and personality. I've learned so much about posing and interacting with subjects to ensure they feel comfortable and empowered, allowing their natural beauty to shine through. The images I created during this period, often featuring diverse individuals, aimed to reflect a broader, more inclusive definition of beauty. As I continue on this path, my dream of having my work published in a magazine feels more tangible than ever. It would be a dream come true to share my vision for beauty and fashion on a larger platform, continuing to advocate for diverse representation and a broader, more human understanding of what truly makes someone beautiful. I want my photography to inspire others to see and appreciate the beauty in everyone around them, just as I strive to capture it.
