Annual Ornament

Since my mom bought her first home, she made it a tradition for us to always get a real Christmas tree and pick an annual ornament to reflect over our year.

This ornament can be for manifestation and where we like to be in life, a reflection of what we’ve done over the year, or just something random that we’re filling at the moment.

What’s a tradition you and your family share?

What’s a tradition you’d like to create??

This simple yet meaningful practice allows each member of the family to select an ornament that represents their year—be it a significant achievement, a personal moment, or even something whimsical. These ornaments not only decorate the tree but also serve as tangible reminders of cherished memories, providing a narrative of growth and change over time. Incorporating annual ornaments into your holiday practices can also be a wonderful opportunity for manifestation and gratitude. As you select each year's ornament, take a moment to reflect on your personal growth, the challenges you faced, and the milestones you celebrated. Whether it’s a handmade ornament, a store-bought trinket, or a family heirloom, the stories each ornament tells can deepen the connections between family members. Moreover, sharing your family traditions—like the process of selecting an ornament—can inspire others. Consider initiating discussions with friends or creating social media posts that highlight these meaningful moments, inviting others to share their own experiences. This not only helps to cultivate a community around shared values but also fosters creativity in how families commemorate their unique journeys each year. Traditionally, families gather to decorate their Christmas trees while reminiscing about the past. The act of reminiscing can add layers of emotional richness to the experience, making it more than just a visual decoration. It’s about making memories, honoring achievements, and sometimes even healing from setbacks. As you celebrate this holiday season, think about what traditions resonate with your family and how annual ornaments can be a fundamental part of your celebrations.
