I’m not an early bird

Nor am I a night owl. I am a permanently exhausted pigeon. I feel like I haven’t been well rested since becoming pregnant with my first child.

Now I’m up before the butt-crack of dawn for work, not pleasure. I’m a housekeeper at my local hospital and my shift starts at 6 am with a 20 minute drive. Making sure I’m properly clothed, have taken my morning meds, attended to hygiene and hunted down my belongings are my max ability at that point of the day.

My water bottle has been missing for a week or two, so I was stoked to find it. Less stoked to scrub it before sunrise, but it is what it it is. In case you’re wondering, it stays icy cold if I fill it half ice half water when I get to work on the OB wing. (My weekend designation, usually I’m up another floor in med-surg so keeping cold at all up there is a miracle.

I cleaned my second labor room of the day and am so incredibly thirsty. I haven’t had a chance to grab a sip. The rooms today were particularly gory and I wasn’t going to touch anything until I was done scrubbing. I also sweat a ton at work. I’m a chonky mama these days and need some serious work on my self control when it comes to food.

I’ve gained 50 lbs since having kids. I actually lost it all after the second one, but it snuck back. I used to drink a lot more water, but struggle to remember to hydrate like I used to.

Anyway, I went off on a tangent. I hate mornings but found my water bottle so yay?
