Back from the dead?

There aren’t many words to describe the way I feel about my situation.

Staring, at the moving bodies, like I’m a superior apparition.

I dwell too much on this stunted heart of mine.

With a roll of my eyes, I tell myself I’m doing just fine.

Being incorporeal really takes the cake in my eyes.

But that’s just what happens when somebody dies.

“Fuck this!” People watching, only scratches the surface of the ache of my missing existence.

Other specters put up far less resistance.

“I didn’t expect to see you here.” That cheeky little devil Barbra sneers in my face.

Like her choices were better than mine and that she was given ample grace.

“Here is nowhere and everywhere at once.” That gets me a disgruntled smirk.

Half my fun now, is being unscrupulous jerk.

“Being dead has its perks, Balor.”

She might have a point, but I’m a true pessimist at heart.

I’m not sure Barbara’s ghostly brain equates to smart.

“List these perks,Barbara,and maybe it’ll entertain me enough to listen to your gods damn voice.”

I don’t even ponder how she took that as true invitation to list off benefits.

But next time I’ll put more effort into my sarcastic emphasis.
