This happened to me so it doesn’t happen to you 💛
I used to think pushing through was strength. Then my child asked why I was always tired. Now I rest because they deserve the best version of me.
As a teacher and a mom, I completely relate to the struggle of feeling exhausted yet pushing through every day because you believe it's the strong thing to do. However, what I learned the hard way is that constant fatigue only diminishes the quality of the time and care you can give your family. When my child asked me why I was always tired, it was a wake-up call that rest isn't a sign of weakness—it’s essential for being present and engaged. Taking time to rest and recharge allows us to be more patient, focused, and emotionally available. For teacher moms especially, juggling lesson plans, grading, and parenting can be overwhelming, but carving out moments for self-care can make a huge difference. This means setting boundaries, asking for help when needed, and not feeling guilty for taking breaks. Your kids truly deserve the best version of you, not a tired or overworked version. Prioritizing rest sends a positive message to children about the importance of self-care and balance. It helps model healthy habits they can carry into adulthood. If you’re struggling with exhaustion, consider small lifestyle changes like mindfulness, regular sleep schedules, or even short naps when possible. Remember, self-care is not selfish—it's a necessary act of love for yourself and your family. Please, take care of yourself before your body forces you to stop.
