NEW FOUNDATION ALERT!✨
Trying out the Natasha Denona Hy•Glam Foundation in NP10
Still trying to figure out if it is a good shade for me
I was so excited to finally get my hands on the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Foundation in NP10! Like many of you, I've been seeing all the buzz, and I couldn't wait to try it for myself. My biggest concern, as always, was finding the perfect shade match. That initial moment when you pump it out and apply it for the first time is always a mix of hope and apprehension, isn't it? Upon first application, I immediately noticed the texture. It’s definitely a more fluid foundation, which I appreciate as it tends to blend out more seamlessly. I used a damp beauty sponge for one side of my face and a brush for the other to see how it performed with different tools. The Hy-Glam Foundation felt lightweight on my skin, which is a huge plus for everyday wear. It didn't feel heavy or cakey, even after building up a bit of coverage in certain areas. I'd describe the finish as a natural matte – not overly flat, but definitely not dewy. It gave a beautiful, smooth canvas, perfecting my skin without looking like a mask. Now, let’s talk about NP10. This is where I'm still on the fence. While it looked promising in the bottle, once applied, I found myself questioning if it was truly my perfect match. NP10 is described as a 'neutral-to-pink' undertone for fair skin. On my skin, it leaned a little more neutral than I expected, which isn't bad, but I’m looking for that seamless blend where my foundation disappears into my neck. My top tip for anyone trying to shade match the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Foundation is to test it in natural daylight – fluorescent store lighting can be incredibly deceiving! Apply a few potential shades directly onto your jawline and let them sit for about 15-20 minutes. Foundations often oxidize slightly, meaning they can deepen or change tone as they interact with your skin's oils and the air. What looks perfect initially might shift. I’d highly recommend swatching a few shades if possible, stepping outside if you can, and observing how they look in different lighting conditions throughout the day. For me, NP10 is close, but I might need to explore a shade with a slightly more pronounced pink undertone, or perhaps learn to mix it with a shade adjuster I already own. For the few hours I’ve had it on, the foundation seems to be holding up well. It hasn't settled into fine lines excessively, and my skin still feels comfortable. I haven't noticed any significant oil breakthrough yet, but I'll definitely need to do a full-day wear test to give a definitive answer on longevity, especially in warmer conditions. Coverage-wise, it's a solid medium, buildable to almost full without looking heavy. I appreciate that it covered some redness and minor imperfections without completely masking my skin's natural texture, letting some of my skin show through for a more natural look. It really lived up to the 'Hy-Glam' name, giving a refined yet radiant look that feels very 'my skin but better.' Overall, my initial experience with the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Foundation has been overwhelmingly positive, aside from my personal shade matching uncertainty with NP10. The formula itself is impressive – lightweight, good coverage, and a lovely finish. If you're considering this foundation, definitely take your time with shade selection, as it's the key to making any foundation truly shine. I'm going to continue testing NP10 and see how it performs with different primers, setting powders, and application methods. Stay tuned for a more in-depth review once I've had more time with it, and hopefully, I can definitively say if this shade is truly for me, or perhaps guide you to your perfect match!
