I am still sitting with this one a few days after its completion. The other two books in the series are already downloaded. I know I will read them.
It's very good, unconventional, but good. It's masterful in a way I have been craving.
I can usually zip through this length of book with no issue, but this story cannot be rushed. It absolutely has to be savored. It is not a breezy, mindless read.
There's mystery, a good dose of horror, dark academia, suspense. The entire read makes you uneasy and I adore that sort of craftsmanship.
Discovering and deciphering everything as the characters do is such a treat when done well. This is. I had no idea what was coming. Beautiful.
And if you know me at all, Russian Literature has a very special place in my heart. So grateful these were translated.
You have to read it. Then, you will understand. I can't even say more. I will be thinking about this one for a while. I don't have a choice.
