NEW at The Centrepoint - 蜀都丰 So Do Fun

[NEW!] @sodofun.sg by Master Chef Peng Zi Yu, the Sichuan Cuisine Teacher for International Superstar Nicholas Tse, Lands in Orchard at The Centrepoint! Famed for using only live fishes imported fresh daily, the acclaimed Sichuan chain spans over 100 outlets across China, Singapore and Malaysia!

After trying 酸菜鱼 at so many places, the one @sodofun.sg @thecentrepoint_sg really stole my heart 💛

Chinese food can sometimes be heavier on taste, but the dishes here were surprisingly well-balanced — flavourful without being too salty or oily.

What we ordered👇

🐟 Boiled Live Fish in Spicy Broth 招牌水煮活鱼

Sourish with a nice spicy kick — super shiok but not overwhelming. Highly recommend!

🐸 Tender Frog with Pickled Pepper

非遗老坛泡椒田鸡

A MUST order if you love frog legs. So meaty, so tender… I’m still thinking about it 🤤

🥩 Stir-Fried Snowflake Beef 小炒雪花牛肉

Tender, flavourful, and perfect with a bowl of white rice 🍚

🍳 Braised Fresh Tofu Skin with Eggs 鲜腐竹焖鸡蛋

Comforting and savoury — almost like a “dessert” dish but savoury-style.

🍵 Jasmine Lemon Tea 茉莉柠檬

Fragrant, refreshing, and very well balanced — even the drinks impressed us!

Conveniently located at Somerset, just a few minutes’ walk from the MRT. The dishes are great for sharing — jio your friends or bring the family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

... Read moreIf you're exploring Sichuan cuisine and wondering what makes So Do Fun stand out, let me share a bit more from my experience. One thing I really appreciated was the freshness of ingredients like the live fish, imported daily, which made the famous Boiled Live Fish dish exceptionally vibrant and flavorful. It’s sourish with a spicy kick that hits just right—never overwhelming but wonderfully satisfying. Another highlight is the Tender Frog with Pickled Pepper. For frog leg lovers, this dish is a must-try; the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, which lingered on my mind long after the meal. It's a unique offering that captures traditional Sichuan flavors with a modern twist. The Stir-Fried Snowflake Beef had a melt-in-the-mouth texture that paired perfectly with simple white rice, making it great comfort food. Meanwhile, the Braised Fresh Tofu Skin with Eggs surprised me by being almost a savory 'dessert'—light and comforting. To complement these bold dishes, the Jasmine Lemon Tea was wonderfully fragrant and refreshing. It balanced the spicy flavors well and was a perfect palate cleanser. Conveniently located at 176 Orchard Road, B1-17 The Centrepoint, it’s easy to reach via MRT at Somerset. The restaurant’s cozy setting is ideal for groups and family gatherings, offering dishes designed for sharing. So, whether you're planning a food adventure with friends or a family outing, So Do Fun offers a welcoming and delicious experience. Finally, prices are reasonable for the quality and authenticity you get, and the friendly service adds to the overall pleasant dining experience. Next time I visit Orchard, So Do Fun will definitely be on my list for delicious Sichuan flavors!
