What i do for work as a 22 year old single mom

While being a mama of 2 at 22, I found it hard to manage money for my bills, figure out what i wanted to do as a career, and being able to have a flexible work schedule so I can spend all my free time with my girls. Luckily, while working in psych, I was able to learn what I wanted to do long term and my hospital allows for me to be able to have a much more open schedule and work the days that I choose.

Not only have I learned a lot about what I want to do long term, but it has also helped me be able to finish my schooling and spend more time with my kiddos. #workingwithkids #youngmom #psychhospital

Being a young single mom can present unique challenges, especially when trying to balance work and family life. Many young mothers face the pressure of financial obligations while also seeking a fulfilling career path. Fortunately, modern job environments, especially in fields like healthcare and mental health services, offer opportunities for flexible schedules that accommodate family commitments. For instance, working as a Mental Health Worker (MHW) in a psychiatric hospital allows for per diem arrangements, offering the chance to work on chosen days while providing critical support to individuals in crisis, including both adolescents and adults. This flexibility not only helps moms manage their time effectively, allowing for schooling and quality moments with their children, but it also paves the way for long-term career satisfaction and growth. Additionally, supportive work environments and community resources dedicated to young moms can significantly enhance this journey, aiding in both personal and professional development. Embracing this journey requires resilience, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to seeking opportunities that align with personal and family goals.
