Sleep Paralysis Experience🛌

this hasn’t happened in a long time. it was scary, but in the glimpse of a second, one word came to my head, “Jesus.” it wasn’t my own thought but i followed. i called onto him and he answered. God reaches out to us just as we also reach out to him. he is always pursuing us no matter what, all we have to do is follow, listen, & learn.

i was reminded of psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

in the middle of a nightmare and bad experience, he was there with me all along, waiting on me to call on him. he wants us to go to him when we feel afraid, anxious, angry, depressed, etc. he is always ready and waiting for us.

Have you ever experienced a sleep paralysis? Bc the solution will always be JESUS💗

... Read moreSleep paralysis is a condition where a person temporarily experiences an inability to move or speak while falling asleep or upon waking. This state often comes with frightening hallucinations or a sense of an ominous presence, which can trigger intense feelings of fear and helplessness. According to recent studies, sleep paralysis affects roughly 8% of the general population and is linked to disrupted REM sleep cycles, stress, sleep deprivation, and certain sleep disorders. Experiencing sleep paralysis can be deeply unsettling, especially when combined with vivid dreams or nightmares, as described in this personal account involving a terrifying dream scenario. The distress caused by these episodes can increase anxiety around sleep, potentially leading to chronic sleep disruptions. It is crucial to address the physical and emotional aspects of these experiences. One effective way to cope is through establishing calming bedtime routines and managing stress. Techniques such as meditation, controlled breathing, and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) may help reduce the frequency or intensity of sleep paralysis episodes. Additionally, creating a comfortable sleep environment free from distractions can promote more secure and restorative sleep. Spirituality and faith, illustrated here through calling on Jesus during the episode, can also play a significant role in offering psychological comfort and reassurance. Many find solace in prayer or spiritual reflection as a way to cope with fear, anxiety, and feelings of vulnerability. Psalm 23:4, mentioned in the narrative, symbolizes comfort and divine protection amidst life’s darkest moments, reinforcing the idea that faith can empower individuals to overcome frightening experiences. If you or someone you know suffers from sleep paralysis, it is advisable to consult with healthcare professionals to explore treatment options and rule out underlying sleep disorders. Combining medical approaches with spiritual coping strategies can provide a holistic framework for managing this challenging phenomenon and rediscovering peaceful sleep.

I had a similar experience when I was younger and many other frightful things as well and what always help was calling out to Jesus and saying, “I am covered in the blood of Christ,” as someone told me that work even better too and it does help a lot.
