Cherry cheesecake danish

This was my very first time making these! How did I do? These were very simple to make

You’re going to need dough, cream cheese, pie filling, milk, powder sugar, vanilla

Start by cutting your dough, then pressing down with a spoon, add cream cheese filling & pie filling, bake for 15 minutes at 350, top with the icing !

Super easy to make for beginner bakers like myself

One tip I found helpful was to ensure the cream cheese filling is smooth and slightly whipped before adding it to the dough—it helps create a creamy texture when baked. When cutting the dough, I prefer to make consistent square or circular pieces to keep the danishes uniform in size, which aids in even baking. Flattening the middle with a spoon really makes it easier to hold the fillings together without them spilling over in the oven. For the cherry filling, using a good quality pie filling or even fresh cherries mixed with a bit of sugar can elevate the flavor. The cream cheese filling I made included 4 ounces of cream cheese, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a little powdered sugar to add sweetness without overpowering the cherry. Baking at 350°F for 15 minutes worked perfectly, giving the dough a lovely golden brown color while the filling remained soft. Once out of the oven, drizzling a simple icing made from powdered sugar and milk added just the right touch of sweetness and helped tie all the flavors together. Overall, this recipe is fantastic for beginners who want to dive into pastry-making without complicated ingredients or techniques. Plus, these danishes make a wonderful treat for holiday desserts or casual afternoon snacks. I highly recommend trying this recipe and experimenting with different pie fillings to find your favorite combination.
