Coming back to work after maternity leave meant not just a fresh start, but a complete Salon Suite TRANSFORMATION from the ground up! One of the most exciting, yet challenging, parts was mapping out the perfect floor plan for my space. I wanted it to be functional, inviting, and truly reflect my brand. If you're dreaming of your own suite, here’s a peek into how I approached designing my layout and some tips I picked up along the way. First, I started by envisioning the client journey. How would my clients feel from the moment they walked in? I knew I needed a small, welcoming waiting area, even if it was just a comfortable chair and a small side table for their belongings. Then, it was about creating a seamless flow to the service area. For my services, I needed ample space around the styling chair or treatment bed, ensuring I could move freely and efficiently without feeling cramped. This meant carefully measuring everything before placing furniture. Next, practicalities like equipment and storage became my focus. Where would my main tools and products go? I opted for built-in shelving and discreet drawers to keep clutter at bay, especially since salon suites can be compact. Thinking vertically was a game-changer! Floating shelves and tall, slim cabinets really maximized my storage without encroaching on the floor space. Electrical outlets were another big consideration—planning where they needed to be meant avoiding tripping hazards and ensuring all my equipment was easily accessible. Lighting played a huge role in my salon suite floor plan. Good lighting isn't just about aesthetics; it's essential for providing quality services.
