Things I’ve done/gotten to feel closer to God

- “the best sermon you'll ever preach is the way you live your life.” - Saved not softly

Today I wanted to show a little bit of what’s been helping me grow a stronger connection to God. Everyday I feel the urge and the burning desire to just search up a podcast or write in my journal or simply do a bible study and learn the chapters legit dissected piece by piece. I even start gathering notes of things on my phone whenever I hear a podcast and something they recite or mention speaks to me.

Today I did my first class called “nueva vida” apart of my church I go to Sundays either in person or online. it’s a humbling and kind of helpful feeling in a way to hear that everyone had their own testimonies to why they decided to die and give their life to God.

Check out some podcasts if you have some urges to walk with God. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m just someone who wants better, who wants peace, and wants a fresh start and I know with God the answers will come on my lap.

... Read moreBuilding a closer relationship with God often involves exploring various avenues of spiritual engagement. One effective method is listening to faith-based podcasts that provide insights and inspiration. For example, the 'Heart Dive Podcast' and 'The Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz' are great resources that dissect biblical teachings and personal testimonies. Engaging with these podcasts daily can enhance your understanding and offer guidance on your spiritual journey. Another powerful way to connect with God is through journaling. Creating a dedicated space to reflect on your thoughts, prayers, and scriptural insights can foster self-discovery and mindfulness in your faith practice. Journaling also allows you to document your spiritual growth over time, making it easier to see how your relationship with God evolves. Participating in church classes, such as 'Nueva Vida,' can also provide a supportive community and help you hear others' testimonies. These stories of transformation and faith can be incredibly inspiring, as they offer a glimpse into the diverse ways God works in people's lives. Look for small groups or study sessions in your local church to dive deeper into discussions about faith and personal experiences. Always seek to embrace vulnerability in your faith journey. Sharing your struggles and joys with others can create a meaningful dialogue and strengthen community bonds. Remember, there is strength in vulnerability, and engaging with others who share similar experiences brings additional encouragement and support. Ultimately, nurturing your spirituality is a personal journey that can be enriched by different practices. Be open to exploring various methods of connecting with God, whether through studying the Bible, participating in community discussions, or simply spending quiet time in reflection and prayer. Embrace the journey, and you may find that your relationship with God flourishes beyond your expectations.
