33. Single. No kids. What’s wrong with that??

I was raised to grow up get married have kids live life.

I haven’t reached those stages yet. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I have not dated anyone husband-like. These men put on elaborate hoaxes to fool you into believing their intentions are good, they’re faithful, they’re providers, etc. I have not fell for it. Simply.

I want to be a wife and then have kids. I do not want to be anyone’s bm. That’s not for me. I have never been pregnant. I go extended periods of time without intercourse and when I date it’s just that - dates.

Scientifically, we have to do it to get pregnant. Personally, there has to be some commitment to do it. Honestly, these folks be turning me off.

When I see single moms who are unhappy, and even families breaking apart due to divorce I feel sad. I do not want that. I need a strong connection and fulfillment for me to want kids with someone. It’s scary out there. I’m always going to protect myself and my future family. Avoidance is working.

The issue is, I’m being questioned and side eyed for sticking to my beliefs. Yal see he’s flabbergasted 😲 and he thinks I’m a “strong feminist” 🥴.

I’m very submissive and traditional when I am in a relationship. A complete southern belle. I believe in gender roles. How does not being knocked up lead someone to those conclusions about me?

Many people feel compelled to settle down and have children regardless of their personal circumstances. This article highlights the significance of embracing one's decision to stay single and child-free, advocating that it's perfectly acceptable to prioritize self-fulfillment over societal expectations. The decision to remain without children doesn't equate to personal failure. Instead, it can symbolize strength and clarity of purpose. Women, in particular, face societal scrutiny when they resist the idea of motherhood, often being labeled as feminists or perceived as not adhering to traditional gender roles. Yet, this perspective overlooks the varied and valid reasons behind such choices. For many, staying single and without children allows for self-exploration, career growth, and the ability to form deep, meaningful relationships without the pressures of parenthood. It also creates the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share similar values and life goals. Relationships built on mutual respect and shared ambitions often yield more fulfillment than those rooted in obligations. As exploring relationships becomes more mainstream through platforms like online dating, individuals can connect without the expectation of immediate commitment. It's essential to maintain communication about intentions and desires, setting clear boundaries that reflect one's values. Ultimately, this conversation empowers individuals, particularly women, to live authentically by their beliefs rather than drifting into roles dictated by tradition or societal judgment. Choosing a life without kids offers freedom to create the life that resonates personally, emphasizing the importance of personal happiness above all. Embrace your journey, reflect on what truly matters to you, and know that every path is valid.
