No comí casi nada 🤪😂
Traveling through Michoacán, Mexico, I found the local cuisine to be a delightful blend of rich flavors and affordable prices, perfect for food lovers on a budget. One of my favorite experiences was tasting 'papa con cueritos,' a popular Mexican street food consisting of potatoes topped with pickled pork skins, which cost only 35 pesos. The torta, a Mexican sandwich filled with a variety of ingredients, was another satisfying and inexpensive meal at 55 pesos. A unique snack I enjoyed was 'charales,' tiny dried fish usually seasoned and eaten as a crunchy treat, which I bought for just 50 pesos. The total I spent on all my meals in a day was only 480 pesos, which shows how accessible and delicious Mexican street food can be. Interestingly, some of this food was even gifted to me by locals, adding to the warm and genuine culture of sharing that you find in Mexican villages and ranches. Besides the wonderful food, I also visited a Café del Oxxo, a popular convenience store café chain known for accessible coffee and snacks, which is perfect for quick stops during your travel day. Eating like this not only helped me stay within my travel budget but also gave me an authentic taste of daily Mexican life. For travelers and food enthusiasts visiting Mexico, I highly recommend exploring local markets and street food vendors in rural areas like Michoacán. The vibrant flavors, the affordable prices, and the welcoming atmosphere make it an unforgettable culinary adventure. Don't forget to bring some cash, as many street vendors accept only pesos. Overall, embracing these local foods enhanced my travel experience and gave me stories and tastes to remember long after the trip.
