How to become grunge/alternative
Apologies for the crop, the third one says to dress up your fav bag.
If you're aiming to nail the grunge or alternative style, one of the best ways to start is by embracing layering in your daily outfits. Layering isn't just about adding clothes, but about mixing textures, colors, and styles to create a look that feels personal and authentic. Think oversized flannel shirts over graphic tees paired with ripped jeans or skirts for that effortless grunge vibe. Accessories are where your creativity truly shines. Don’t hesitate to pile on rings, bracelets, chokers, and necklaces—even mismatched ones—to express your individuality. The key is to mix and match boldly without worrying too much about rules. Similarly, bags offer a fantastic canvas; dressing up your favorite bag with pins, patches, or even customized charms can elevate your outfit and make it uniquely yours. Consider denim bags, chains, or ripped styles that echo the raw aesthetic of grunge fashion. Jewelry plays a huge role as well. Over-the-top doesn’t mean overdone here—it means layering multiple pieces in a way that tells your story. From chunky rings to layered necklaces, the combination can be funky and fun. Don't be afraid to experiment with accessories that seem unconventional for you; sometimes, the most memorable looks come from stepping out of your comfort zone. Remember, becoming grunge/alternative is less about following strict fashion rules and more about expressing your personal style in a creative, unfiltered way. Confidence and authenticity go a long way in making this style truly yours.

i'm a punk and every time i see posts like this i get pre-mad because it's usually ridiculously inaccurate to the actual subculture but this isn't .... bad ? the pictures are not representative of grunge (think kurt cobain, hes the one who created grunge so hes a good example) but the actual captions are not incorrect ! it's really just about being who you want to be / to piss ppl off LOL
