⚪️ supr- macy hurts us all. if you are not an able-bodied wealthy cishetero yt man you are not safe, either. and they will NEVER see you as an equal no matter how you bend and mold and hack off pieces of yourself to be “respectable”. being complacent harms you, too. maybe not as immediately, but certainly eventually. if the people who put themselves on the line for YOUR rights and comforts disappear, then what will you do? will you speak up then? will you look around and wonder where the black and brown and indigenous and queer and disabled folks have gone and despair that you now have to carry the weight of defending yourself alone? or have you deluded yourself into thinking that we will always be here to speak up for you so that you can exist in peace, shrouded in your comforts and your blissful, willful ignorance?

sometimes your very existence is political. there is nowhere to turn where you will not encounter your identity. for those of us, we have no choice but to fight, to stay aware, to help ourselves and our neighbors because to help one helps all, and to let them fall is to hurt yourself. we are all actually connected this way, and some of us just see it more blatantly than others.
