hey hey! it’s Rainy and i thought, after all the reading i do, it was about time that i join bookstagram! and what better way to start than to introduce myself?
besides all my faves, here’s some other things about me!
🧡 my name isn’t really anywhere CLOSE to “Rainy” but i thought it would be fun to have a bookish persona :]
🧡 recently (at least at the time of posting), i completed and received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, so really, it’s Dr. Rainy to you ;)
🧡 on the same note as the previous point, i’m currently studying for my licensing exam aka the NPTE (National Physical Therapy Exam) and i’m hoping to get my ACS (Acute Care Specialist) once i start working!
🧡 i’m a HUGE concert-goer; some of my top concerts have been Fall Out Boy (duh), The Sweat Tour (charli xcx and Troye Sivan), IDKHow But They Found Me, BEARS IN TREES!!!!! and i’m gonna see Twice, Pierce the Veil, and My Chemical Romance (x2) in 2026!
🧡 i’m a queer, first-gen, POC and A LOT of my reading will reflect that!

Sharing my journey not only as a reader but also as someone who recently achieved a Doctorate in Physical Therapy brings a personal layer to my posts. Balancing intense study for the NPTE (National Physical Therapy Exam) with indulging in captivating books and music is my way of finding joy and balance.
I find that my identity as a queer, first-generation person of color deeply influences my reading choices. I gravitate towards stories that reflect diverse experiences, cultures, and voices—books that go beyond mainstream narratives and embrace authenticity. This passion has led me to explore titles by authors like Yoko Ogawa and Elodie Harper, whose works offer rich, compelling perspectives.
Concerts are another pillar of my life that complements my love for storytelling. Live shows, from bands like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance to festivals like The Sweat Tour, create unforgettable moments that inspire me both personally and creatively. Music festivals and concerts fuel my creativity and often lead me to seek out books and movies that capture similar emotional intensity, such as "Kingsman" and "Sonic."
Engaging with communities tagged #books, #queerreader, and #lemon8bookclub has connected me with fellow enthusiasts who share my interests.
