Mom’s first plane ride at 50 y.o.

📍 Location: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, MX

🗺️ Travel Plan: Drive from Austin to the San Antonio International Airport -> Catch Viva Aerobus plane to Monterrey International Airport -> taxi from Monterrey International Airport (MTY) to Guadalupe, N.L. to my abuelita’s home & back again

⭐️ Biggest Motivation: We traveled to spend my mom’s 50th birthday with my grandma! This was also my mom’s and my brother’s first time traveling by plane, cutiesss🥹💗

👀 The Tea: We didn’t check in on time for our first flight, we missed the cutoff by 20 minutes & I totally blame it on the stop at Bucees 🤧 On top of that, we had travel insurance but still had to pay fully for a flight for the next day. Imd, I hadn’t flown since 2018 so at least we still had a lot of fun on trip aside the drama 🤭

📝 Takeaways: I need to travel more often lol. Like I mentioned in my last family post, my mom and my brother are people who I need to rediscover as people. They are my babies, especially in situations when I have to guide them through new experiences like this one, but they are also very strong willed, and I liked seeing all their determination to make this a great visit to my grandma’s. Here’s to more to my family trips!! 🙌♥️😁

xoxo, loren
