How I create my monthly wallpapers 👩🏻‍💻

Hey everyone, your girl is back with an app recommendation and if you haven’t checked out Canva you should try it out now! Are you curious to know how creators make their own monthly wallpapers? Well here’s how! I use Canva and upload my own photos that I take with my dslr camera. I also look for some plain minimal designs and get creative with it. I like to add text and stickers to mines. It’s super easy to create your own wallpapers, vision board, etc. There’s just so much you can do on the app and I love how it’s user friendly.

I've found that customizing these backgrounds each month isn't just a fun creative outlet; it's a way to refresh my digital environment and even set intentions for the weeks ahead. If you're looking to elevate your device's aesthetic, I'm excited to share more of my process, especially focusing on how I use the Canva app. Beyond simply uploading a photo, the beauty of crafting your own backgrounds lies in personalization. Think of your lock screen as a mini vision board or a daily dose of inspiration. For instance, I love creating an "April cherry blossom wallpaper" for my iPad lock screen to celebrate spring, often featuring delicate "pink flower" graphics. Or perhaps a cozy, warm-toned design for the colder months, reminding me of "cozy days" indoors with a warm drink, maybe even a nod to "but first, coffee" with a subtle Starbucks-inspired element. Canva, my go-to tool, makes this surprisingly straightforward. While the original article touched on uploading photos and adding text, there's so much more to explore within this powerful app. When I start a new design, I often browse Canva's extensive library of elements. You can find everything from minimalist shapes to intricate illustrations. For a recent "sakura blooms" theme, I searched for cherry blossom vectors and paired them with a soft watercolor background. The "Elements" and "Text" menus are where the magic happens, allowing you to layer different graphics and choose from countless fonts to perfectly convey your message, whether it's a simple date like "April" or a motivational quote like "mentally i'm here." Another pro tip for creating seamless wallpaper designs is understanding aspect ratios. A phone wallpaper will have a different dimension than an iPad wallpaper. Canva offers preset sizes for various social media and device types, which is incredibly helpful. I always start with a blank canvas sized specifically for my phone or iPad screen to ensure everything fits perfectly without cropping. Experimenting with transparency and layering elements can also add depth and sophistication to your backgrounds. For example, placing a semi-transparent text box over a busy photo can make the text more readable while still allowing the image to shine through. I find inspiration everywhere – from seasonal changes to my current favorite quotes or even just a color palette I'm drawn to. Sometimes, I'll even create a collage of smaller images or patterns to form a unique "wallpaper design." The key is to play around! Don't be afraid to try different layouts, font pairings, and graphic combinations. Once I'm happy with my creation, I simply download it and set it as my new lock screen or home screen background. It’s a small change that makes a huge difference in how I interact with my devices daily, making them feel truly customized and a reflection of my personal style.
